Monday, May 16th – Registration for Snowmass Crush Team Charity competition goes LIVE. We have Rx and Scaled divisions for the 4-person (2 guy + 2 girl) team competition at Snowmass mountain on Saturday, July 9th. We are super stoked to be hosting this event where 100% of registration goes to Project Sanctuary. Monday, May 30th – Memorial Day Murph at Broomfield Commons @ 9AM. We are excited to be hosting our annual “Murph” workout outdoors and alongside the Broomfield Veteran’s Museum’s annual picnic and ceremony on Memorial Day. The Murph workout is a 1-mile run, 100 pullups, 200 pushups, 300 squats, and another 1-mile run. We will have a scaled version and will also allow teams to work together to finish this workout. We are so excited to be hosting our annual “Murph” workout in the Broomfield community alongside the Broomfield Veterans Museum and Rotary Club’s annual ceremony and picnic on Memorial Day at Broomfield Commons Park in Broomfield. This event is open to MBS friends and family.

For time:
1 mile Run
100 Pull-ups
200 Push-ups
300 Squats
1 mile Run

The “Murph” workout is in memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005.

This workout was one of Mike’s favorites and he’d named it “Body Armor”. From here on it will be referred to as “Murph” in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is.

Partition the pull-ups, push-ups, and squats as needed. Start and finish with a mile run. If you’ve got a twenty pound vest or body armor, wear it.

We encourage first-timers to scale and/or modify movements as needed…Or, to do the workout in a team!

Following our workout, Broomfield Veteran’s Museum and Rotary Club will be hosting their annual Picnic and Ceremony from 11-1PM, which will include displays, local music, and food.

Spring is here, which means Summer is around the corner! Hot weather, lakes, rivers, BBQs with family and friends are all just a couple of months away. Are you ready to make this the best summer yet? Are you ready to feel great, have endless energy and look amazing? I think we all get a little anxious before that first pool party, or the first big hike with friends. But not this year, this year you will be ready to live up every second! And we are here to help.

The MBS Sugar Detox, starting April 15th and ending May 13th, is your summer prep plan! 28 days of detoxing, fat burning, metabolic boosting, programming to change the way you look, feel and perform. With the help of MBS Nutrition and your peers, you will be guided and supported through metabolic resetting, body detoxing, illness prevention and of course, tightening up for swim season.

GUIDANCE
MBS Nutrition will be your sensei, guiding you through the process with helpful videos, tips, recipes, activities and support. We will provide you with everything you need to purge the pantry, prepare for success and stay accountable. You will learn the micronutritients that are depleted due to sugar consumption and why they matter so…damn…much. You will be given the tools to succeed and the support to stay on track.

COMMUNITY
When you join you will instantly be welcomed into a community of like-minded people, which want you to succeed as much as they wish to succeed. This community will offer support in the hard times. You will also have the opportunity to lend your support while making new friends. During the challenge we will be hosting community events such as potlucks, movie nights and outdoor activities where the toxin, sugar, will not be invited.

FORM A TEAM!
Still, it can be hard to detox when you are constantly surround by temptation, either at work or at home. We understand, and that is why we are offering the detox to everyone! So they can detox with you! Not only that, but we want you to build a team. Get your 20 co-workers to join you or your family members, so they can benefit and you can ward of temptation. The more people we have the more successful we are.

PROOF
We love data! We love to not only see change, but record it, down to the millimeter. Before and after the sugar detox you will be asked to go through in depth testing to give us an idea where you started and ended. Your results will be calculated and you will have concrete data to prove just how bad-ass you are!

MBS Summer Crush at Snowmass

The MBS Summer Crush is a charity team competition at Snowmass is a mixture of our favorite things – CrossFit, mountains, good company, and fun activities. The single-day competition will involve 3 standard CrossFit-style workouts + 1 floater. You can register to compete as “Rx” or “Scaled” teams. This is a family-friendly event, where you should plan on packing your car up on Friday, and returning Sunday. We are proud to announce Project Sanctuary as our beneficiary of 100% of registration funds in this event.

Gearing Up for the Colorado Springs Spartan Sprint/Beast

Here we go again! We will be hosting a 6-week training program to prepare you for the Colorado Springs Spartan Super/Sprint on May 14 & 15th.

 

MBS Spartan X Training Program

In just over 6 weeks on May 14-15th, Spartan Races is coming to Ft. Carson army base in Colorado Springs to host a “Super” (8-10 mile) and “Sprint” (3-5 mile) obstacle course. The obstacle courses feature 20-30 obstacles that will test your endurance, perseverance and grit. While the obstacles, many times are unknown till the day of the race, you can expect things like mud pits, barbed wire, hill sprints, cargo nets, high walls, and of course, the SPEAR THROW!

These courses are fun…Well, that sort of “fun” that’s fun when it’s over. You may end up with some bumps and bruises, and you’ll likely not be in the top 10 (there are actually professional Obstacle Course Racers ), but you will have done something hard. It will make your Monday morning meeting with bosses seem like a cakewalk. The best part will be the training leading up to the race.

Every Sunday from 1:00-2:30 pm, we will be running a Spartan X training session. Prepare your body for the 40-80 minute race time, learn how to scale walls, crawl under barbed wire, climb cargo nets, race up hills, and throw a spear! Bring a water bottle, wear some workout clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty, and of course, a winning attitude.

– Nutrition, recovery, and stretching guidance during training

Cores and Floors Seminar

WHEN: March 17th, 6pm-8pm at the Hangar in the CF Light room

DESCRIPTION:

This two hour seminar is geared for women of all backgrounds to connect with your core and learn about how to support women’s health. We will be discussing women’s anatomy as well as doing hands-on exercises to help you on your way to a stronger “core and floor.”

Pamela is a certified postnatal yoga instructor as well as a birth worker who supports women in various stages of motherhood.
