What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program that aims to forge a broad, general, and inclusive fitness. We define CrossFit as a method of training that combines constantly varied, functional movements, executed at high intensity.

We use functional exercise, plyometrics, conditioning training, Olympic weightlifting, powerlifting, gymnastics, running and jumping to help us reach our goals. Our program mimics the movements in everyday life - we lift objects from the ground, jump, run, throw, and pull ourselves up. These are functional exercises, and they work extremely well.

Sometimes I’ll remind folks to be more aggressive with the rope…it’s a similar thing in weightlifting. We get so consumed with trying to do it ‘correctly’, that we are slow and challenged. I think Coach Burgener says [...] Read more →
